Transportation Program
Fare Details
Until April 30, 2025:
Cash rides: Riders pay the driver directly. Cash rides are $0.53 per kilometer with a minimum of $11 for a return trip and a $2 administrative fee per booking. All rates include a return trip, a two-hour wait time at your destination. Drivers are reimbursed for their expenses. We do not encourage gratuities.
Invoiced rides: We invoice a third party organization such as ODSP, Rose of Sharon or York Region's Housing with Support who will reimburse the driver for the mileage. Invoicing may incur additional administrative costs.
Late Cancellations incur a 100% fee (if cancelled with less than 1 full business day's notice).
For example, to cancel a ride that is scheduled on Thursday, 1 full business day is Wednesday, so the ride should be cancelled on Tuesday.
*NOTICE* Effective May 1, 2025, our fee structure is updating as follows:
Cash Rides:
In-Town Rides
will incur a cost of $15 including applicable admin fees.
Out-of-Town Rides
will incur a cost of $0.55/km + applicable admin fees.
Each additional stop
will incur a fee of $1.
If an appointment extends beyond 2 hours, the ride will incur a double fare.
Late Cancellations
incur a 100% fee
(if cancelled with less than 1 full business day's notice).
For example, to cancel a ride that is scheduled on Thursday, 1 full business day is Wednesday, so the ride should be cancelled on Tuesday.
Invoiced Rides:
We will continue to offer invoiced rides. These rides may incur additional administrative fees.
Riders requiring our staff-operated Accessible Van
will now incur a flat fee of $10
to access the service. Otherwise, accessible van transportation costs will be provided at the same rate as our Volunteer Transportation program above.
Eligibility
Our services are provided to residents of York Region who cannot, because of their financial, physical or mental challenges, travel by conventional transit or taxi. Eligibility for our services will be assessed during an intake.

Booking a Ride
As a client of our Transportation Program, you can book rides to destinations within, as well as outside, the York Region for medical, social, banking, recreational purposes and activities of daily living requirements.
When booking a ride, you will need to provide all details including the date, time, exact address, suite number and, if applicable, the doctor’s name. We offer curb-to-curb service; the driver cannot enter a home so riders must meet our drivers outside.
Transportation services are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be booked 3 full business days in advance. Weekends and holidays do not count as business days. After hours requests will count the next business day.
We will attempt to accommodate last minute emergencies. Pick up times and fees will be confirmed the day before. Clients are responsible for any additional parking fees, if applicable.
Important update effective
January 1, 2025:

Cancelling a Ride
As we are a service that many people rely on, we ask that you cancel your trip if you no longer require it. Giving us as much notice as possible will allow additional availability for other clients. It is important to contact the office with
at least 1 full business day of notice. You will be invoiced for the full cost of any late cancellations (cancellation within 1 business day of the ride).
Fee Subsidy Assistance
We provide fee subsidy assistance to residents of Georgina, East Gwillimbury, and Whitchurch-Stouffville who are in financial need. Proof of income will be required to determine eligibility for the program and will be reviewed annually.
